FBC-ABC Survey on Labour and the Temporary Foreign Worker Program

On March 27, 2023, the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion, Carla Qualtrough, announced the extension of temporary measures introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic and through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) Workforce Solutions Road Map.

These continued measures including permitting employers in seven sectors with demonstrated labour shortages, including food manufacturing, to hire up to 30 percent of their workforce through the TFWP for low-wage positions.

These measures will remain in place until October 30, 2023.

FBC-ABC is undertaking a survey so that we may have a better understanding of the labour needs and use of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program by member companies.
