Meet YOUR TEAM!

Tammy Brideau
Executive Director
Food & Beverage Atlantic

A message from your Association Executive Director:

Since joining the FBA team in 2019, I’ve enjoyed every opportunity to meet our members and industry partners. My goal with FBA is to build a strong network for food & beverage processors that will become a resource for everything our members need. We are accomplishing this at a fast pace with the launch of our new website, industry guidance tool, extensive training and education workshops, and numerous programs available for members to help grow their businesses and export products.

We offer opportunities for members to showcase and market their products through programs like CTV What’s for Dinner, Pitch opportunities for the Sobeys Local programs, or social media programming with our very own Kilted Chef. New activities are being added to our calendar every month. We have had a hand in helping many food and beverage companies get in front of Buyers, cross the border into export markets, and make important connections with industry peers.

I love to hear your success stories and I am grateful to local companies who share their best practices with us and other local companies. Together we can build a stronger and more successful food and beverage community and industry, serving Atlantic Canada and the rest of the world. As I continue to travel through our beautiful region, eating and drinking amazing local food, I look forward to meeting every one of our members and association partners!

Nancy Brace
Membership & Program Advisor
Food & Beverage Atlantic

A born and bred Newfoundlander, Nancy lived most of her adult life in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry throughout Atlantic Canada and 10 years as the Executive Director of the Restaurant Association of Newfoundland Labrador, Nancy has the background required to work with members across Atlantic Canada and build new relationships.

Building a versatile skillset through every new opportunity throughout her career, Nancy recently helped create the vision for the promotion of local food as part of the tourism offering in Newfoundland. This project included a provincial tour that promoted local food and restaurants.

After 10 years with RANL, Nancy is delighted to join Food & Beverage Atlantic, keeping connected to what she loves most, local foods. The goal has always been to see Atlantic Canada as a culinary and flavour destination.

Nancy is very connected to her community. In 2009 Nancy founded the Green’s Harbour Heritage Society, to help Green Harbour, NL. preserve and maintain its historic buildings. She also serves on the Local Service District and is part of the Come Home Year planning committee.

Tim McRoberts
Past-President
Canada's Smartest Kitchen

A Message from your Association President:

Over the past 25 years, Tim has worked at Holland College in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, as a Chef Instructor, Curriculum Consultant, and Program Manager. These experiences were a wonderful training ground for his current role as Director of Canada’s Smartest Kitchen, a food and beverage Technology Access Center (TAC) and R&D arm of The Culinary Institute of Canada at Holland College.

Prior to joining Holland College, Tim worked as a professional chef, holding various executive-level positions in the foodservice industry. In addition to leading large scale, fine dining, and catering operations, Tim has also worked in areas such as brand ambassadorship, product development, food television, culinary consultancy, and strategic business development.

Tim is a passionate adult educator. When returning to formal studies, Tim worked diligently to integrate his professional culinary experiences into academia. In doing so, Tim completed Master of Education and PhD in Educational Studies degrees integrating learning cycles into new program development and the changing post-secondary student demographic in Canada.

This blend of industry and post-secondary experiences have been a driving force in Tim’s life. When supporting clients at Canada’s Smartest Kitchen, Tim ensures a systematic and team-based approach is integrated into every food and beverage product development activity. Since joining the Food and Beverage Atlantic Board of Directors, and in taking on the role of board president, Tim is committed to utilizing a similar approach when supporting the FBA membership and operational team.
