This 6-week course will help business owners and leaders develop a roadmap for managing, improving and scaling their food & beverage business.  The course covers all aspects of general business, from defining purpose and competitive strategy to building high performing teams and managing for profit. Attendees will work together in a workshop setting to learn techniques and skills using a case study and sharing their experiences.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneur operating a food and beverage processor in Atlantic Canada. These are the people with the decision-making powers. Business owners looking to grow their business, improve results and take control in a very challenging industry will find value in this workshop series.

Alan Archibald has held executive leadership positions in various facets of the food industry. Currently he leads Archibald Analytics Inc., a consulting practice that helps companies that have technically sound products or services but lack the capacity in designing and executing viable “go to market” strategies. Alan works with a host of Canadian food and beverage producers and processors to help them grow and improve their businesses, including securing new listings plus identifying, evaluating and managing vital channel partners like co-packers, brokers and distributors.

Norm holds a BSc. and an MBA in marketing, is a certified change management practitioner and a lean sigma black belt. With over 25 years’ experience with some of Canada’s best known food companies and brands, Norm brings a fresh approach to thinking about sales, marketing and processes that add value for customers and consumers. Norm has delivered courses in lean six sigma and commercial excellence. His engaging and challenging style helps participants learn and to apply the continuous improvement concepts in their day-to-day jobs.

Peter’s experience includes both sides of the desk.  Prior to working with suppliers and launching SKUFood, Peter worked for 19 years with Canada’s largest food retailer, Loblaw.  Peter is the author of A la cart and has provided food industry insights to Canadian Grocer, The Globe & Mail, Maclean’s magazine and Canada AM.
