Call for Recruitment: FoodTech Summit & Expo 2025 – October 8-9, 2025 in Mexico City
FoodTech is recognized for being the most important exhibition of ingredients, additives and solutions for the Food & Beverage industry in Latin America (more details on the show below).
The Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) will be present through a Canadian pavilion, coordinated in partnership with the provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, Quebec, and Saskatchewan. To encourage pan-Canadian participation, we are now opening exhibitor registration to companies from all provinces.

Exhibitor space within the Canada pavilion.
Side-program with visits to Central de Abastos and food processing plant.

We are looking to recruit Canadian exporters of innovative ingredients, value-added solutions, and food-tech products that are export-ready and targeting Mexico as a key market. Companies must have the capacity and resources to respond to demand from the Mexican market. We appreciate your support in sharing this opportunity with eligible clients. Please focus on companies that meet the criteria above. We’re happy to work with IMET partners to verify market access for specific products.

FBC-ABC Announces Executive Committee Changes, Concludes Productive Board Meeting, and Releases 2024-2025 Annual Report
FBC-ABC is pleased to announce updates to its Executive Committee following its recent AGM and spring Board meeting. David Anyanwu (Cargill Limited) has been elected as Director at Large for a two-year term. Mike Bannister (Atlantic Poultry Inc.) and Ted Lawson (Nortera) have been re-appointed as Chair and Treasurer, respectively.
The association thanks Robert Eiser (Aliments LUDA Foods) for his service as Co-Chair, as he moves into the role of Past Chair. We also extend our appreciation to Kathleen Sullivan (Maple Leaf Foods) and Michael Burrows (Maple Lodge Farms) for their contributions to the Executive Committee – they will continue to serve on the Board.
Board members discussed post-election advocacy and initiatives such as the proposed Food and Beverage Manufacturing Modernization Fund. The 2024-2025 Annual Report is now available online.

FBC-ABC Welcomes Leahy Orchards Inc. to the Association
FBC-ABC is thrilled to extend a warm welcome to our newest member, Leahy Orchards Inc. From early beginnings making maple syrup and growing apples on their family farm, the Leahy’s launched their own brand of applesauce – Applesnax – in 1990. Today, Leahy Orchards Inc. is a major player in Canada’s fruit and vegetable processing industry, processing over 130 million pounds of produce each year.
Revisions to the CBSA Customs Notice 25-19: United States Surtax Remission Order (2025)
CBSA has issued a revision to its United States Surtax Remission Order (2025). These revisions include clarifying processing and manufacturing to include the adjustment, assembly, or modification of goods, as well as further details regarding eligible products for temporary relief. FBC-ABC encourages members to review the latest changes.
