The association has realized that it can be most effective if it does its best to follow the following strategies:
Listen to and be responsive to the needs of the food processors in the industry, in other words be "industry driven".
Maintain full transparency in its activities.
Ensure that it will stay financially viable by maintaining very tight cost controls.
Ensure that all activities carried out fit within the objectives of the organization and make a positive financial contribution to it, in other words stay focused.
Maintain and expand the educational opportunities it provides to the industry.
Support partnering and cooperation among the processors.
Always provide the highest level of service that it can afford to its members and to other interest groups.
Recognize that people are key to a successful food processing industry and therefore focus on developing this current and future people resource.
Recognize as well that marketing the food that is processed is also very important and therefore be on the look-out for ways to expand the marketing effort of the processors.
Promote food production from the Atlantic region.
Promote value-added food production.
Always be open to opportunities to the grow the industry and the association.
